UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

today while uninstalling the microsoft Office 2007, on my Acer Aspire 4720Z Laptop.after the total uninstall of the Microsoft office 2007 got over, & when the machine got rebotted,it started giving problems.it asked for doing a memory diagnostic 2 pass test, which I did, & no problems found was the status, then the M/c rebotted again & then gave a option as to what to do as windows did not shut correctly, I tried nearly 3 to 4 time this 2 options of use the last known good configuration, but every time it went till the Win XP logo & then suddenly gave a FAST flash message that
A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED & WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER. Then below this line the foll line stated as
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
I tried to do a recovery console, but as soon as i types R on the welcome screen,I got a message that no harddisk is detected on your pc. & pres F3 to reboot the pc.I also tried to do a total fresh install of win XP but ahen it goes to the welcome screen & when i press enter to start the formatting process, I immedtalei get a message that no HDD detected on your pc? where as the Light of My HDD is continuously blinking. Also when the PC boots up & i Press F 2 to enter the Configuration , It celaery detects the HDD & also shows its Number? So i am confused as to what coule be the problem? is that thet My HDD has some problem? Guys pls help asap.
