URL’s not opening in outlook 2003 after loading the latest I E 8

I have never had problems clicling on URL’s in recieved emails in outlook 2003 or other Url’s untill I updated to Internet explorer 8 now all i get is a blank screen opening in muy explorer is this a new security issue
can anyone help please
