VB Control of Remote Services

I would like to know how to stop/start remote services from within a VB program? Specifically, I have two PC’s on a LAN, and need to have VB program on the first PC check the status of a remote service on the second PC. If the service is not running, the VB program on the first PC needs to start the service on the second PC. I currently stop/start the service mannually from the control panel via VNC.
