Viewing pages that are octet streams

I am having an issue viewing certain web pages in either internet explorer or firefox. With IE, it just displays gooblygook when I try to access certain pages in ebay that run cgi scripts. With firefox it comes up with a message saying that I am trying to download content that is either an application or an octet stream for the same page I am trying to access. This never use to happen before so I am wondering why all of a sudden it’s happening. Is there anyway I can fix this on either browser
