VPN Access to Exchange Server

Recently, we had a new firewall installed. VPN access through the firewall has been established successfully. However, our Windows 2000 Server (which acts as our domain and exchange server running exchange 5.5) has never been configured for remote access. I need some help setting everything up so that a remote user connecting via VPN can access their corporate email from the exhcange server.
