W2K Prof printing problem

I have W2KP Workastations which try to use network printers on a NT 4.0 Server. The machines are members of the same domain, I have admin-rights. Despite of this, network printers show the status “access denied, unable to connect”. I cannot see or manage any jobs, but I can print and change some of the settings (haven’t tried all yet). I suspect it has something to do with the security configuration of the W2K machines. Or it could be introduced by additional software. A W2K in an out of the box installation doesn’t show the symptoms.
Any ideas? What shall I try next?
