What is dsl? Can I still plug router in Xbox ?

I wanted to plug my router into my Xbox via. Ethernet, but I noticed a green cord running into the wall that’s plugged into the router called “dsl” what happens if I unplug it ? Can I still moved the router to my room and connect it to me Xbox ?
