What is the best practice for Formatting .CSV imported to excel doc?

I export a portion of a database as a .csv and then bring it into Excel, format it, and provide the completed spread sheet to a superior weekly.

What is the best way to automate the formatting of the spreadsheet? I tweak all of the column widths, word wrap, data types and then format the data as a table for sorting and filtering.
