what is the current status of andriod vs. ios?

What is the current status of andriod vs. ios since there is a new release HTC with Android 2.2 (Froyo) with HTC Sense UI, does it mean andriod has advantage now over ios? since there is a battle between the two to become on top. Previously, around january 2011, base on surveys ios has lead against andriod, though to avoid bias judgement, its still on the users side. All i want to know is that this new Android 2.2 (Froyo) with HTC has an advantages over ios.
