What needs PHP?

we use IIS during development of dynamic site of ASP. It is very expensive to host an ASP site. So I want to move towards JSP or PHP. I think JSP needs TomCat as web server
but what web server is the requirement of PHP pages?
Does Linux server support PHP dynamic sites?
