when printing g3 asks for zip disk

When print or page set up is selected on a g3 connected to network printers, I get a message asking for the zip 100 disk to be inserted. Inserting a disk only gets the same message and the disk is ejected. It is an internal disk.
It will print after you cancel the message.
But is does freeze often.
Any suggestions on getting rid of the message?
