where did the arrowhead in page break view go?

In my Excel 2003, running on windows XP SP2 one fine morning I found that the arrowhead for positioning the page break, in View menu,had gone away and I could not resize the page.What could have gone wrong?
Any hints to look for or any places to look for? Please advise also on hirendra7158@gawab.com.
