Why not HTC HD or the PRO version?

Why not HTC HD or the PRO version?
I have been a very lyal PALM user since it arrived on the market, but chose HTC HD last time and the onlly “flaw” is that it does not sync with my old DEsktop Palm.
But I am curious, why not HTC?
