Will android be the leading mobile OS in coming years

Though there is enough time passed by introducing Google’s android in the market,still it is not that popular everywhere.
There are many faults or defects told by many ppl abt android.
So under such conditions will android capture the mobile market as leading mobile
platform for application develoment in upcoming period..?
