Will I anticipate any problems if I setup a test DC on a different subnet?

I’m planning on setting up a test environment on domain joined computer, but I will have everything in vmware workstation virtual machines. I plan to use the NAT adapter which will be on its own subnet. Will the production DC have any issues or conflicts if I setup a new test domain/DC in a VM using NAT?
the host workstation will be in the 192.168.5.x subnet and the the test VM DC will be using the NAT’s 192.168.183.x subnet.
Do you guys recommend a better way to setup a test environment?
