Win7 won’t remember my profile settings

I have a new Dell T3500 wrokstation with Win 7 Ultimate. After loading Adobe CS5 and a bunch of other apps I began the task of rebuilding desktop shortcuts and importing browser favorites, etc. Now if I restart my machine all of those settings are gone!

Here’s a list of the things are not saved when I log out or restart:
Desktop shortcuts
Toolbar settings
Network drives that I mapped
Favorites and bookmarks for IE and Firefox

Any idea why the system won’t remember my profile settings?
