WIN98/95 Peer-to-Peer Networking

by spooky . Updated 25 years, 9 months ago

Two seperate issues: A). I have two computers with WIN98 1st edition on one and WIN98 2nd edition on the other computer. I have peer to peer network set up through 10Mbps hub and card. When I click on Network Neighborhood ,I see each computer inselfon each pc but not the other computer. And sometimes I don’t even see each computer itself. I have tried reinstalling TCP/IP; Ethernet card driver and what not; nothing is working. B). On the second problem – I have set up peer to peer with 98/95. I can see both computers in Network Neighborhood on 95 machine but I don’t see either computer on 98 machine. When I click on “Entire Network” on 98, I get the error message “cannot browse the network”. What’s weird – at least that’s what I think – is that I can ping 98 machine from 95 and also print from 95 machine to the printer attached to 98 machine. Hope this not confusing! In both cases – all computers are in same workgroup and File and Print sharing are turned on. Thanks in advance!
