Is anyone successfull sharing a cable modem on a Win98 LAN without using ICS?
Actually, I have two boxes successfully sharing the cable modem, but the ISP is dynamically assigning the IP’s. I want to share file and printers on the SOHO LAN with each other and a Linux box, but having little success. Tried ICS with 2 NIC’s in one box, but ICS client couldn’t get past NIC to cable modem. Recently added the NetBUI protocol and one of the boxes found the other (but not the other way around??).File/Print services ON on both boxes and both have identical case-sensitive workgroup names. I’m setup peer-to-peer, but am still having problems. . . . with arms in air!
