Windows 2003 CALS Windows NT 4.0 Domain

How can Windows Server 2003 per user CALs be added to a Windows NT 4.0 domain? I have 18 Windows NT 4.0 servers that are slowly be replaced but I have been unable to find information on adding the per user CALS on the Windows 2003 server. Any suggestions?
