windows cannot connect to the printer access is denied

I am getting this error “windows cannot connect to the printer access is denied” when trying to connect to a shared label printer.
Numerous other PC’s have connected with no issues.
This is a workgroup not a domain btw.
I get the error when the install process is looking for the driver.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
