Windows Update causing issues with Broadcom NIC?

by asalive . Updated 16 years, 2 months ago

A question for the group here. I have a number of machines around the office of various makes and builds. After the last round of windows updates i started to notice some issues with the NIC drivers for the onboard Broadcom NIC. My system logs on the machies are showing DCOM errors, random, or looped reboots, and a number of entries about the NIC starting and stopping. Most common event ID’s are: 10009, 1003, and 7023. From my research on the 1003 error, Microsoft indicates a virus, however my search of what they wanted me to look for has not turned up anything, neither has various scans with different scanners. If it were only on one machine i would chalk it up to a bad card, i now have three machines that have all experienced similar issues after the last round of updates. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue, what actions may have been taken as a work around. thus far i have had little luck. Any insight will be very much appreciated.
