Windows Update Notification Icon Problem

On some of the computers I manage (Windows 2000), the Windows Update notification icon in the system tray (the Windows logo with the globe) does not disappear even though WindowsUpdate.com reports that all the patches have been installed. How can I fix this so that the Windows Update notification does not report false information? Thanks.
