Having a similar issue as some others, but I’m unsure how to go about the directions in correcting the error so I can boot into Vista.
Its an Acer Desktop computer. It has 1 Sata hard drive(Looked inside myself to see only 1 hdd)
The partitions on it I don’t know exactly for sure. I would guess 1 or 2.
Okay the error screen I get that got me this far is
Booting Windows Vista
acpi
Vista Loader 2.1.2
Done
Fallback 1
Find –set-root /bootmgr
Error 17: file not found
Booting ‘WindowsNT/2000/XP’
fallback 2
Find–set-root /ntldr
Error 17: file not found
Booting ‘Enter Command Line’
Boot Failed! Press any key to enter command line
Then it goes to Grub4dos 0.4.3
from the grub> prompt I went
geometry (hd0)
This was the results
Drive 0x80(LBA): C/H/S = 16383/255/63, Sector Count/Size= 625142448/512
Partition number 0, Filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x27
Partition number 1, filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x6
partition number 2, filesystem type unknown, partition type 0x7
I’m unsure where to go from here on checking what got messed up that is keeping my windows from loading. Could use direction from here.
