windows xp networking help needed

I have 2 desktops that I cant seem to get file and printer sharing to work pc1 is a dell with xp home and pc2 is a hp with xp home upgraded from 98, they are ran into a wired broadband router pc1 sees pc2, when i try to access it i get pc2 is not accessable, network path not found and on pc2 when i click “view workgroup computers” i get mshome is not accessible network path not found, all ip address look good and all firewalls are disable, mshome is my network name on both pc’s I also get a timed out when I try to ping the other pc ip address from either pc please E-mail me with any help you can offer dmward@ptd.net subject tech republic so I know its not spam, thankyou……
