Windows XP SP2 not loading on laptop

by rockalah . Updated 21 years, 9 months ago

I have made three attempts to install Windows XP SP2 on my laptop that has Windows XP Pro. Each time I was unable to boot after the installation as my computer keeps restarting. Fortunately I remember my teachings of making a complete backup before doing this major installation.

One thing that I did notice is that the copy right page where Windows XP starts, was changed. Before the installation this page would read: Windows XP Professional

After the installation this page reads: Windows XP

I don’t know who to contact about this or what to do about it. I have had to restore my laptop to its state before the XP SP2 installation. I really don’t like feeling that I have wasted my time and efforts. What can I do?
