wireless Network drop

I have media center, a belkin wireless G router, HP 8130 lap top, cable connection to roadrunner and firefox 2 for browser.
When I power on everything works fine and some short number of minutes later the wireless connection drops. The hard wired connection remains intact. The only way I have found for recovery is power down/up and then the whole situation repeats.
Suggestions please
