Wireless not working

My wireless connection on my computer seems to be not working. By not working I mean that the connection itself is gone and is no longer on my network connections page. I recently updated iTunes and it was working fine until I started it up today and the wireless network is nowhere to be found. My adapter is a Broadcom 802.11 WLan device but even that isn’t showing now. any ideas?
