Workgroup stuck in My Network Places

A consultant of ours recently created a virtual PC on the “D” drive of one of our domain PCs to do some software testing. The virtual PC was named “PCNAME” in the “Workgroupname” workgroup.

Now that he’s gone and the PC has been physically removed from the network the PC name is still appearing in our Windows 2003 Active Directory computers list, and the Workgroup is still appearing the the My Network Places browser listing on all the domain workstations.

I cannot find a way of removing these now non-existent entries from appearing in the AD or Network Places browser, and it’s been a week since the consultant has left.

Does anyone know of ay procedures for removing these entries? Any assistance would be appreciated.
