I have an XP client PC that will only connect to the network under one (out of 4) user logons. User logons are for an NT domain. PC has a static IP address (this can’t be set to DHCP as a particular network application requires a static IP). One user can log on, access resources etc. Other users are given message ‘domain is not available or password is incorrect’ message
Usually, by the time any other PC has reached a logon prompt, the IP address is visible on the network. All of the users domain accounts have been added as valid users of the machine via Users in Control Panel.
Machine cannot be pinged unless the one working user has logged in! Given that none of the network settings change, why would only one of the users be able to log in? All other users can log in elsewhere with no difficulty.
many thanks
