XP Install disc?

My neighbor, (no groaning YET) purchased a new PC w/ XP installed. The vendor did not include an OS disc and told the neighbor that new pcs do not come with OS discs anymore….. And that neighbor could MAKE one from the system…… This is news to me…..

Anyone else hear of this? How do u make an OS disc from the system? Thanks for the feedback!
