With an XP Pro system there must be an Administrator account. This account has all privelages. For local access you can then add additional accounts that have specific rights. But, for users that logon to a network, the user name does not have to becreated under User Accounts. (I can only assume that XP does this because it expects the user to have a policy in their Home directory.) What I want to know is, if a user is not in the User Accounts list, how do you setup this users rights? Excluding creating a policy.
These un-registered (for lack of a better word) users do not inherit the Guest access rights as far as I can tell. (I’ve tried it.) Not everyone who logs on to this computer will use the Guest logon due to the fact that they will log on to a network and the network logon name has to be specific.
Hope this makes sense.
