XP Pro SP2 performance is lousy

Prior to installing SP2 on the XP Pro on my home system, performance was very nice. However, since installing SP2 performance is really doggy, even after defragging the disk. It even boots up slower than before. This is on a Dell Dimension 4600C with 2.4 GHz processor, 256M RAM (PC3200), 40G HD.

I’ve frequently wondered if anyone else has experienced the same type of general slowdown… I keep looking but nobody has posted anything that I can see.

Anybody out there have any performance issues since installing SP2? Any ideas on how I can speed this thing up?
