add w2k to domain & log in take forever

I am currently running Windows 2000 advanced server. I upgraded my Me machine to Windows 2000 professional. When i go to add the win2k machine to the domain, it goes thru, but it takes almost 5 minutes. After i reboot from making the changes, i log into the domain, and when i do that, it literally takes almost 25 minutes to get to the desktop. Does anyone out there have any input as to what i have set wrong which would make it take that long? The server has a D-link 530TX NIC in it, and the win2k pro has a Linksys 10/100 TX ver 4 NIC in it. They are connected thru the 4 port Linksys Router. Thanks.
