One of my PCs runs Office 2003 under W2k.
Some weeks ago I noticed two pst-files belonging to my account, so my mails were scattered over two containers (in two parts?); I was puzzled, but neglected the discovery. One pst-file I found in /UserData/ (the right place, to my opinion; the file name was outlook.pst) and the other I found in
Documents & Settings//Local Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook/ (with file name Outlook.pst, very strange… I discovered both files by searching as Admin for *.pst . I don’t know why, when or how it comes, but yesterday I discovered that about 6 months of my e-mails were missing when opening Outlook. As Admin I copied both files to an external HD, and placed the Outlook.pst (i.e. the latter file mentioned) in a place where could handle it (which is not the case if it were sitting in Documents & Settings//Local Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook/
I succeeded in merging both files by means of Outlook itself into the outlook.pst sitting in /UserData/. And, fortunately, all my mails were there again, but my address book was completely empty… Can someone help me, please, to get my address book back, hopefully extracted from either backed up pst-file residing on my external HD? I would be very grateful, because I’m missing about 300 addresses now!
