Advice REQ for a friend. COBOL programmer who can’t find work

My friend is absolutely brilliant, but has been working in COBOL almost exclusively for the last 30 years…. until now.

He can’t find COBOL jobs and he wants to get back to work, but doesn’t know the best way to ‘re-invent’ himself (for lack of a better term) to make him more employable.

Any ideas would be most helpful.
