Our country is facing a shortage of skilled IT workers–a shortage that will only get worse as boomer tech professionals retire. A study released last week by the Association for Computing Machinery notes that “more IT jobs are available today in the U.S. than at the height of the dot-com boom.
So the new people in IT are not as smart as the people who are leaving the field? I am one of the older people in the field and I think we need to keep IT jobs here. And if we need more help. We need to train more people and keep our jobs in the US. How do we do this, Well do a better job of teaching our young, not just give up and look elsewhere. I like our country and do not want to loose our jobs because some one says our young want to get other jobs. Are we becoming a let other people do our jobs and we will do as little as possible. I do not think so! Read this blog and post about this. We in the US are loosing thousands of jobs to outsourcing and it only hurts our country because what is left for our young? Well all that is left is factory jobs and fast food jobs. Unless you can get a degree from a high paying collage and know someone.
We are the country that made the Internet and the people who made most of the programs that let you do what you need on it.
