Some time in the 1950s (probably after 1954, when I learned to read, but it could be I was reading something older) there appeared in some science-fiction magazine a short story of this title. It concerned a machine which knew everything, but which in practice gave pretty useless answers because the questions had not been properly posed. The machine seemed to have a planet all to itself. Does anyone else remember it? Who was the author? In which edition of what magazine did it appear?
