Assessing Companies Technology, and IT Dept. Finances

Hello,

My I.T. Department needs to do an assessment of our company’s technology, how many workstations do we have versus how many we need, were our technology currently stands and where we need improvement. Also we need to review spending that is done by I.T.

Would a due diligence report take care of all of this? I know that the due diligence will definitely help with the technology overview but what about the financial aspect? Let me know, thanks for your help.
