Assigning numeric values to yes no validation

Is there anyway that you could assign a numeric value to a “Yes” “No” validation? E.G. if i was to set up a spreadsheet with 10 Questions,and responded by saying yes to 7 of them ( by using the data,validation,list function).I need the spreadsheet to allocate 7 points/marks.Meaning the yes answer carries a value of 1 while the no carries a value of 0
