AWOL PST file!!!

by pballwarriors . Updated 20 years, 3 months ago

I’m in a little panic mode here, but tryong to keep my head. Yesterday windows 2000 reported to me there were inconsistencies with several files on a drive in my PC, and suggested running chkdsk to repair them. I ran the prescribed action on the next boot. ChkDsk deleted 45000+ index entries from the drive in question and completed “successfully”. The drive appeared ok when I inspected it. I powered off the PC overnight and this morning when my outlook attempted the autoarchive, it reported an error with my file. Upon inspection, the file, normally 1.4GB in size, was 0 bytes and not recognized as a legitimate PST file. This file contained 2 years worth of emails, and company info. The drive had a Found.ooo folder and many dir****.chk subfolders. These contained files and directories from the disk.

What would the best utility be to attempt to recover the PST file, if even possible. I am currently trying R-Studio recovery suite. Any other bright ideas? Thanks for your time.
