biostar m7vip “skipping” sounds

i have a biostar m7vip with a dvd-ram an dvd-rom with amd xp 2200+ with windows xp pro. ok now that that that’s out of the way…..when ever i play video on my pc or a cd the sound skipps and i have no clue what to do…………..HELP ME!!!!thanx
