Biostar TForce 7025 having boot disk error (40)

by taustin . Updated 19 years ago

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Windsor
Biostar TForce 7025 (I forget the rest)
2x1gb G.Skill DDR2 800
XFX Nvidia 8500GT 512 PCI-X16

Bios will recognize the SATA HD, but when booting, it will give the screen saying something to the effect of “Floppy disk failure (40). The only two things I have hooked up to IDE is a CD burner and a DVD Reader. Only hard drive is the SATA (cant remember brand atm).

If I hit “F1” to continue, everything continues on without a hitch: WinXP will boot, games are playable, cable internet is functional. Sound doesn’t work, but I believe that is a different issue. Regardless, I still get the error after every restart, and I have to hit “F1” every time.

This is my second build, and I seriously have no idea how to fix this issue, as I have never encountered it with my own or anyone else’s system.

Absolutely any help is appreciated.
