Black i in black octagon blue rectangle in Word?

A client has asked me what these two icons mean in Word XP. Apparantly they appear and disappear at random according to her (though she’s “no expert”). The “i” is lower case – could it be for info? (though I’ve never seen it!)

The rectangle is blue and appears from time to time in tables ???

Anyone shed light please?
