Building a report in Access

Is there a way to get my details to display in horizontal fashion rather than having all details in vertical. I have a very ornate report that i am building and the original document that i am emulating is a spreadsheet printout that is very highly sectioned. Can someone help me either get detail records to display out horizontally or print an access report to an excel spreadsheet?
