Cant join Win 2000 pc to 2003 domain error 1053 The service did not respond

Hey

I have been having problems with one Win 2000 machine. First off, its really slow. When I try and join it to a 2003 WORKING domain, i get an error “1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion”.

When I type in the domain to join and hit enter, it prompts me for a username and password pretty quick, so I dont think it is the net connection.

Any ideas?
