Career in S/w Testing

I am BE Electrical pass out in 2000 working as electrical officer know want to shift my career in s/w testing . pls tell me whether my decision is right decision for shifting into s/w testing .
whether there would any job problem in MNC company as i am from non IT field and my previous exp for 5 years is difference
