cgi or javascript web calendar

I need help finding a calendar that will allow you to click on a date and bring up an image file. Similar calendars are used on dilbert.com and garfield.com. I would like to have something that is Perl based or even a javascript. Features I am hoping for are things like automatically associating a date with a data base item, i.e. dilbert-20020209.jpg. This way I would be able update a data base file and not an entire webpage.
