I have a Compaq presario 5000, 750mhz, 20GB HD and so on… My recovery disk is on the blink, definatly not to be trusted, I own another Win98se full version disk but it doesnt have the drivers I need for my present hardware, it came with an older puter. I’m really a beginner when it comes to drivers other than ‘loading print driver for printer’ kind of thing. Which ones do I need copies of? How do I find them? Baby steps please! Also with loading/installing what types of things do I need to be aware of with my specific puter?
I plan to upgrade some hardware soonish (when can afford)not software,(cant afford). I will then be canabalizing two puters, this and another plus buy a few new parts, like motherboard, cpu, and ram. Will need to have all drivers for this and definatly wont be using compaq restore disk. Any suggestions?
All ideas appreciated, even if it doesnt solve my prob it might solve others. 🙂
