I’m interested in getting a computer-based solution to address annoyance problems like telemarketers and fax machines.
I’d like a solution that does something similar to this:
– Intercepts incoming calls before they ring the phone
– If a fax call, route through fax software, record the fax and email it to me.
– If a voice call, compare caller ID to a pre-arranged database of #’s
– If caller ID matches “good” caller, let call through.
– If caller ID blocked, play message to caller that they must unblock their caller ID before this number will receive their call
– If caller ID unknown, prompt caller to say their name and brief message. Software then rings phones with a special ring. I pick up the phone, listen to the recorded message. If I want to talk to them, I press “1”. If not, I hang up and the computer informs the caller that we’re not available and to leave a message.
– Automatically records any conversation made with a caller not identified through the caller ID database (aka telemarketer).
Is there anything out there (hardware or software or both) that has these sorts of features? It’s the voice recording and fax reception that I’m most interested in.
