Hey guys, I’m brand new to this forum/site. I am having a problem with my computer and have been browsing the forums for answers and tips for 2 hours. Yesterday I decided I wanted to get Vista for the directx10, and a new video card. I ended up having to buy a stick of 2gb RAM as well. I get home to pop in the new RAM first, taking out one of the 512mb first, (I had 2 512mb and 2 1024mb) and boot up the computer. It booted up, with all of the lights and fans running, but keyboard/mouse not on and monitor on standby/idle, along with no post beep (usually beeps once upon startup). I powered off and on, and when it came back on, said there was an error in C:\WINDOWS\system32 and to repair to insert the cd with that file on it and press “r”. I inserted the windows xp cd and it said checking cd, file P5N32 not found. I have a P5N32-SLI Delux motherboard, so I inserted the Asus CD and it found the file and repaired, saying to power off the computer and power on to get the system back. I did so, and it said checking cd upon power on, and repaired again, then said the same message. I unplugged the computer and plugged it back in and powered it on, and everything worked fine. I then proceeded to uninstall my current nvidia drivers and when prompted to restart, did so. Upon bootup, the computer did the same thing. I tried all different kinds of variations of RAM placement, and restarted (with restart button), powered off (with combonations of power button and power source switch) and unplugged and plugged the power cord in. What on earth is going on?
